Comparison
Bonfiyah vs Circleback: an honest comparison.
Circleback is a Y Combinator–backed AI meeting notes app — Mac, Windows, iOS, Android — built around accurate transcription, auto-assigned action items, and a deep automation engine that pushes meeting outputs into HubSpot, Salesforce, Linear, Notion, Attio, and 30+ other tools. It runs in the cloud, has no free tier, and doesn't ship the structured-consent or cross-recording-reasoning layers Bonfiyah is built around.
The short version
If your team lives in HubSpot, Salesforce, Linear, or Notion — Circleback's automation engine is genuinely strong. They've put serious work into pushing meeting outputs into 30+ B2B tools (Zapier, Make, MCP, CLI, webhooks) and that's a real reason to pick them.
If you record sensitive conversations — client meetings, deposition prep, patient intake, due diligence — Circleback transcribes in the cloud with no on-device option. Bonfiyah keeps audio on your iPhone by default and ships explicit Attorney-Client OR Doctor-Patient Privilege markings with audit trail. That's a category gap, not a feature gap.
If you want AI that reasons across your meetings, not just inside one — Circleback ships meeting summaries, action items, and cross-meeting search. Bonfiyah's Pro AI ships Promise Tracker, Truth Layer (cross-recording contradictions), Pre-Brief, Project Context, Compatibility, and Team Dynamics. Different category of intelligence — Circleback is "what happened in this meeting", Bonfiyah is "what's true across all of them".
If you want to start free — Bonfiyah has a perpetual Free tier (120 min/mo). Circleback's only free option is a 7-day trial, then $25/mo.

Where Circleback is the right pick
If your meetings live on Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, or Webex and your day-after work is moving the meeting's outputs into HubSpot, Salesforce, Linear, or Notion, Circleback's automation engine is the cleanest path. They've shipped real depth on the integration side — Zapier, Make, MCP, CLI, webhooks, and 30+ first-party connectors — and the botless local-recording option on Mac/Windows is a thoughtful touch for teams that don't want a visible bot in the participant list.
If you specifically need a Windows desktop app, Circleback ships one and Bonfiyah does not. Bonfiyah is Apple-only by design — iPhone, iPad, and Mac via Catalyst — and that's a real limit if your team isn't on Apple hardware.
If you've got a budget for $25/mo and you'd rather not deal with a free tier's caps, Circleback's flat pricing is simple. Bonfiyah's $14.99 intro Pro is cheaper, but it's an explicit promotional rate.
Where Bonfiyah is the right pick
If you record in person — at the kitchen table, in the doctor's office, at the courthouse, on the deal-room phone — Bonfiyah is built for it and Circleback is built around remote-meeting bots. The iPhone is the recorder; the cloud is optional.
If your data sensitivity matters — patient conversations, deposition prep, sales calls with material non-public information, attorney-client work — keeping audio on your device by default removes a category of risk that Circleback architecturally cannot. Bonfiyah is also the only Apple-native recorder with explicit Attorney-Client OR Doctor-Patient Privilege markings built into the workflow, with audit trail and chain-of-custody PDF exports.
If you want AI that reasons across all your meetings — not just inside the most recent one — Pro AI is a different category from Circleback's per-meeting summaries. Promise Tracker watches every meeting for "I'll", "we'll", "by Friday" — across recordings, across people. Truth Layer flags when something said today contradicts something said in a prior session. Pre-Brief hands you a one-page recap before each next meeting. Team Dynamics turns 10 dimensions of behaviour into a Pointillist Painting per teammate. None of these are Circleback features in any plan.
If you want to actually try the AI before paying — Bonfiyah's Free tier (120 min/mo, perpetual) lets you record a few meetings, hit the AI features, and decide. Circleback gates everything behind a 7-day trial.
FAQ
Can I import my Circleback transcripts into Bonfiyah?
Yes. Export your Circleback transcripts as plain text or markdown from the Circleback dashboard, then use Bonfiyah's "Import Transcript" flow (Settings → Data → Import). Speaker labels are preserved if Circleback exported them.
Does Bonfiyah join Zoom / Meet / Teams as a bot?
No — and that's a deliberate "no, we don't." Bonfiyah is built for the in-person and side-channel conversations that meeting bots can't reach: client intake at the office, witness prep in the conference room, the courthouse-steps conversation with opposing counsel, the kitchen-table conversation with a child. If your day is mostly remote video calls, Circleback is a better fit. If your day mixes remote with in-person, Bonfiyah covers what the bot can't.
Does Bonfiyah work on Windows?
No. Bonfiyah runs on iPhone, iPad and Mac (Catalyst), syncing the same data — Apple ecosystem only. This is deliberate: the on-device transcription pipeline depends on Apple's WhisperKit and Speech frameworks. If anyone on your team uses Windows as their primary device, Circleback is the better pick.
Does Bonfiyah have CRM integrations like Circleback?
No. Bonfiyah does not ship CRM or project-tracker integrations (HubSpot, Salesforce, Linear, Notion). Circleback's automation engine is genuinely more mature here — that's an honest concession. If pushing meeting outputs into a CRM is the core job, Circleback delivers it today.
How does Bonfiyah handle Attorney-Client Privilege when Circleback doesn't?
Two levels of granularity, both audit-logged. Per-speaker: tap a speaker's shield in playback view and mark only their words as privileged — useful in multi-party meetings where one attorney is present alongside non-privileged participants. Per-story: flip the "Mark Attorney-Client Privileged" checkbox on the story metadata row — the whole conversation gets a red 🔒 ATTORNEY-CLIENT PRIVILEGE banner on every email summary, every PDF export, an [ATTORNEY-CLIENT PRIVILEGE] prefix on outgoing email subjects, a red pill on the Stories list, and a plain-text banner on SMS / Markdown share fallbacks. Toggling privilege is logged in the same audit trail as consent grants and revokes — chain-of-custody hash, timestamp, method. The privilege picker offers two types — Attorney-Client (legal) or Doctor-Patient (medical) — and the banner, subject prefix, and pills reflect whichever you choose. Full reference →
Is Pro AI worth the extra $10/mo over Pro?
If you have more than ~3 meetings a week, yes. Promise Tracker alone catches commitments your past self made and your future self forgot, which is the single most-cited piece of feedback we get. Pro AI ships with a 60-day intro window at $24.99/mo plus a 7-day free trial — you have real time to test it across multiple weeks of meetings before deciding.
Switching from Circleback?
