The short version
Superwhisper is a voice-to-text dictation tool. You hold a hotkey, speak, your words appear in whatever text field has focus. It runs on-device using local Whisper-class models in 100+ languages, with optional BYOK cloud post-processing to OpenAI/Anthropic/Google/Groq. Pricing is $8.49/mo or $84.99/year, with a $249.99 lifetime tier. Recent updates: Parakeet Realtime offline (January 2026) and per-mode keyboard shortcuts (April 2026). It is excellent at dictation. We genuinely recommend it.
Bonfiyah is a conversation memory layer. Two or more people are talking, you record it (with three-status consent management plus per-speaker and per-story Attorney-Client OR Doctor-Patient Privilege markings), and Bonfiyah produces transcripts, speaker IDs, summaries, action items, and twenty cross-recording memory features over time. It is not a dictation tool and would be very awkward as one.
If you want both, install both. They do not compete and they don't try to. Superwhisper for dictation; Bonfiyah for the meetings, intakes, and conversations you'd otherwise lose.
